Hello friends, in today’s review we are going to give a full review about OnePlus Watch 2R. In the month of July, OnePlus launched its Watch 2R in India, which is a slightly cheaper version of the flagship OnePlus Watch 2.
This premium watch is price at ₹14,999, which makes it an affordable Wear OS watch. For a price of under 15000, you get the features of Super Color AMOLED display, powerful Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset and Wear OS.
With Wear OS and all these features, OnePlus Watch 2R is a very interesting watch that you will enjoy using. But will this watch be the best option at the price point of under 15000, and is there any shortage in it? Let’s know about it in detail.
OnePlus Watch 2R Display
This premium watch from OnePlus has a 1.43 inches color AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 466 × 466 pixels and a pixel density of 366 PPI, which according to me is fine for a watch but not very special.

The display looks good and there are very less bezels on the sides of the display which makes the display even better and its touch response is also quite smooth.
If we talk about its brightness, then it has 600 nits brightness in normal conditions and for outdoor sunlight, you will get support of 1000 nits peak brightness in high-brightness mode. You will be able to read its screen easily in outdoor because it has auto brightness which works very well.
OnePlus Watch 2R Design & Build Quality
OnePlus Watch 2R is a circular design smartwatch whose body is made of aluminum alloy. The dial of the watch has markings to give it a classic watch look. It has two side buttons, which you can set according to your choice. Different functions can be set for pressing these buttons once, pressing twice and pressing for a long time.
The sides of the watch are made of aluminum, but the bottom part of the watch is made of plastic. It comes with a silicone strap, which has a stainless steel buckle. OnePlus says that this watch fits wrists ranging from 140 mm to 210 mm, but its dial may seem a bit big on smaller wrists.
The watch weighs 37 grams without strap and 59 grams with strap. Its weight is fine – neither too heavy, nor too light. It supports a normal 22 mm strap, which makes it easy to change the strap.
This OnePlus watch supports IP68 water & dust resistant which is protected from water and dust. This means that it can be kept in 1.5 meters deep water for 30 minutes. It is also waterproof up to 5 ATM, which makes it suitable for swimming and everyday exposure to water.

Health & Fitness Tracking
The OnePlus Watch 2R has all the essential health monitoring features, such as heart rate monitoring, stress tracking, SpO2 measurement, and sleep tracking. These features can be easily viewed directly on the watch. However, there is no overall score or measurement that combines the data to give a complete health report.
While the OHealth app lets users view these different metrics together, having a daily health score or summary report would have been a useful feature.
Fitness tracking is good. The watch has multiple exercise modes, such as outdoor and indoor running, walking, jumping, and swimming, as well as specific modes for sports such as soccer and basketball. In testing, the data for outdoor running was pretty good.
Metrics such as average and maximum heart rate, stride length, and ground contact time (GCT) can be viewed on the watch. However, these metrics are easier to understand on the companion app. Also, the GPS route map for outdoor running is only visible on the app, not on the watch.
OnePlus Watch 2R Performance & Software
The OnePlus Watch 2R has a Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset (which includes a 4 nm quad-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53 processor and Adreno 702 GPU) for Wear OS 4, and is based on Oxygen OS Watch 6.0 (Smart Mode). It also has a BES2700BP chipset for RTOS (Power Saver Mode), allowing it to switch between the two operating systems.
Wear OS 4 offers a full smartwatch experience, with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, while the RTOS offers a simple interface, with 4 GB of eMMC storage, but it doesn’t offer any additional apps.
In Smart Mode, it includes apps like Google Assistant, Maps, Gmail, Calendar, Phone, and Messages, and you can install more apps from the Play Store. Overall, the experience is pretty good, thanks to the powerful W5 Gen 1 chipset.
OnePlus Watch 2R Battery Life

The OnePlus Watch 2R packs a 500mAh battery. The company says it can last up to four days, but the actual battery life depends on your usage and the features turned on.
In Smart mode, when all tracking features and notifications are turned on, the Watch 2R lasts up to a third day with some battery left. However, if you use features like Improved Location Accuracy or do sports tracking for a long time, the battery life may decrease.
For charging, the Watch 2R takes about 50 minutes to fully charge. It also supports fast charging, which charges the watch up to 40 percent in a little over 10 minutes.
Pros
- Good High Resolution Display
- Lightweight & Comfortable to Wear
- Decent Battery Life
- Overall Good Performance
Cons
Conclusion:
The OnePlus Watch 2R is a good option for those looking for a good Wear OS smartwatch for their Android phone at a price point of Rs 20,000. The Watch 2R’s lightweight design makes it comfortable to wear all day. Apart from this, it also has accurate step and sleep tracking, a large bright display, and long battery life with fast charging.
However, it is only available in a single 47mm size, which could make it a bit big for those with smaller wrists. Also, it is not the most premium looking smartwatch, which could be a drawback for some people.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch6 solves both these problems. Its 44mm variant is now available for less than Rs 20,000, making it more friendly to users with smaller wrists and it comes with a more premium look.
The Watch 2R becomes a little difficult to recommend when you see that it is available on ecommerce website Amazon at the same price range. If you have any question related to this article, then tell us by commenting.
