Google Pixel Watch 3 Full Review

Hello friends, in this article today we are going to give a full review of Pixel Watch 3, which looks similar to last year’s Pixel Watch 2, but it has many new and good features. I have been wearing it for more than two weeks, and it is almost always on my wrist. I am not a new user of Android smartwatches; I have also used Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro a lot and I like its long battery and Wear OS features very much.

One drawback of Galaxy Watch 5 Pro was that it did not connect well with Fitbit. Fitbit is my favorite health app through which I track my health. Pixel Watch 3 overcomes this shortcoming because Fitbit is from Google, which makes the connection with Fitbit easy and now I can easily track my health.

The new 45mm size of Pixel Watch 3, which I am using, has a big screen. This screen is great for viewing health data and notifications. It has a new Snapdragon chip, which makes it very easy and smooth to use.

So let’s know what are the special features of this Google watch and how much is its battery, and does it become the best smartwatch for Android users? Let’s know about this in detail.

Google Pixel Watch 3 Display Features

(45mm) Pixel Watch 3 has a 1.4 inches AMOLED display, which has a resolution of 456 x 456 pixels and talking about brightness, it has a brightness of 2,000 nits, which will not cause you any problem in outdoor sunlight. The bezels in both models are very low which is quite good.

Both models have a (1-60Hz) refresh rate with LTPO technology which adjusts the smoothness according to the content to save battery. This is a circular curve display watch which makes the watch even more stylish.

Google has not used the new Corning glass to make it stronger, but has used the old Gorilla Glass 5. However, it has been given an IP68 rating to protect it from dust and water, which is not in the new Pixel Buds Pro 2, although they are priced higher.

Google Pixel Watch 3 Design & Look

This year, Google has introduced Pixel Watches in two sizes (41mm and 45mm). The 41mm model of the Pixel Watch 3 may appeal to many people because it is smaller and perhaps cheaper. But I enjoyed using the 45mm model. It has a big screen, yet doesn’t feel too big on the wrist. The round dial has 3D glass and there is also a metal crown and buttons on the side.

The body of this watch is made of 100% recycled aluminum, which meets the company’s environmental goals. The bottom of the Pixel Watch 3 has a glass finish, which does not leave marks on the wrist and makes it feel more premium than the plastic of cheaper watches.

Overall, the Pixel Watch 3 looks very good and feels sturdy. It is especially perfect for those who like a round, classic design. However, the 45mm model feels a bit heavy, while the 41mm model weighs the same as the previous model (31 grams).

It felt a little heavy initially, but I quickly got used to the chunky design and it was comfortable to sleep with. The silicone band is also comfortable on the skin. I wish Google offered the band in more colors, and sadly they don’t have fabric bands in India, leaving customers to rely on other retailers.

Google Pixel Watch 3 Health Features

Google Pixel Watch 3 Health Features

I mostly used the Pixel Watch 3 for fitness, as it integrates with Fitbit, which is something Google has focused on this year. Certain Fitbit features like Daily Readiness Score, Cardio Load, and Target Load are now free. With the help of artificial intelligence (AI), these features help people track their daily activities by giving them a score out of 100.

You can also get personalized routines with a premium subscription (which is free for six months), which can be very useful for beginners.

Pixel Watch 3 has Google Assistant built in, which lets you set a timer or start a specific workout by voice. Which is useful for the gym, as it’s not always easy to switch modes during a workout. The watch automatically tracks running and walking,

AI is used to monitor heart rate, stress level, SpO2 while sleeping, body temperature and breathing rate. The health data of this watch with Fitbit is very reliable and can be easily checked through the Fitbit app.

Performance & Price

Most of the changes on the Pixel Watch 3 are in the software, not the hardware, with the display getting bigger. That’s probably why Google hasn’t increased the price of the new smartwatch by much.

The base 41mm variant is currently priced at Rs 38,999 on Flipkart, which is Rs 1,000 less than last year’s Pixel Watch 2. The 45mm variant has gone up to Rs 42,999, which puts it in line with the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. The Galaxy Watch 6 Classic has LTE connectivity, but Google has only launched a Wi-Fi variant of the Pixel Watch 3 in India, which is a bit disappointing.

That said, the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip and LTPO display made scrolling very smooth in my review. I also liked the slight vibration from the crown when scrolling between apps and notifications.

The Pixel Watch 3 runs Wear OS 5.0 and only has Google’s apps, making it easy to use. However, you can download other apps, such as WhatsApp and games for the watch, from the Play Store.

App Support

The Google Pixel Watch 3 comes with an app that lets users customize the watch, download updates, and set up important features. It also works with other apps like Fitbit, Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Pay.

The Pixel Watch 3 uses the Fitbit app for health and fitness tracking and includes a six-month Fitbit Premium subscription. Some people find the app easy to use and informative, while others say the widget support is weak and the app should have a dark mode.

Google Pixel Watch 3 Battery Life

Google Pixel Watch 3 Battery Life

The battery life of the 45mm variant of the Pixel Watch 3 has surprised me a lot. I have mentioned in my review that this new Google smartwatch easily lasts more than a day, even with Always-On Display (AOD) and other health settings turned on.

It has an auto bedtime mode, which reduces the use of the smartwatch’s display, thereby saving battery life. If you use it carefully, you can easily get two to three days of battery life, which is quite good.

A magnetic charging dock is available with the Google Pixel Watch 3, but there is no adapter. This watch from Google comes with fast charging support which takes 1 to 1.5 hours to fully charge, which I did not find fast.

Conclusion:

The Google Pixel Watch 3 solves many of the problems of older Android watches and delivers a great experience. It’s good for both work and fitness, making it a reliable companion.

Having said that, Google could consider reducing the number of apps to run on the Pixel Watch 3 or other Pixel Watches, as I think it’s better to keep things simple. Making the next watch lighter and thinner could also bring in more customers.

If you don’t care about size and want a very reliable watch that offers “smart” features, the Pixel Watch 3 is a good option for Android phone users.
